Butler University는 인디애나주의 성장하는 STEM 인재 수요를 지원하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 

STEM 분야의 인재에 대한 수요가 계속 증가함에 따라 인디애나주에서 STEM 교육 및 직업을 추구하도록 학생들을 유치할 수 있는 기회가 생겼습니다. 이는 주의 경제를 강화하는 데 도움이 될 것입니다.  

그렇기 때문에 2010년에는 버틀러 대학교 21개 대학을 지원하기 위해 대학 과학 단지를 3단계로 확장 및 개조하는 과학 확장 및 혁신 프로젝트를 설립했습니다.성 세기 학생 학습 및 혁신. 첨단 기술 강의실, 새로운 실험실 공간, 공동 작업 공간을 갖춘 이 대학은 등록을 늘리고 새로운 과학 프로그램을 창설하며 STEM 인재에 대한 증가하는 수요를 충족시키는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.  

Richard M. Fairbanks 재단은 2013년부터 이 프로젝트를 지원하기 위해 Butler University에 $1,300만 달러를 수여했습니다. 이 작업은 STEM 인재 증가를 통해 인디애나폴리스의 활력을 강화하려는 재단의 초점과 일치하며 Butler University의 이사로서 Dick Fairbanks의 유산을 기리는 것입니다.
